The one and only Michael Buble's eagerly awaited new CD p#J}@a
"Call Me Irresponsible' will be released on May 1st, it 0-4WLMx
was confirmed by his record label, Reprise Records. The ]rHdG^0uss

The Vancouver native, whose collective worldwide record KH2a 2
sales are over 11 million units, is also scheduled to cy/;qd+!M
begin a global concert tour in Reno, Nevada on July 13th &Cdk%@Tj]B
with stops including Chicago, New York, Philadelphia, 1"~@UcJ
Atlanta, Los Angeles and Seattle. @ou g^]a
m]Z& .,bA
Call Me Irresponsible highlights include Buble's energy LfrS:g
infused interpretations on standards from a variety of A*~zdZ p
eras including songs by such greats as Leonard Cohen, Eric &gcKv1a\
Clapton, Cy Coleman, Gamble and Huff, Harold Arlen, Johnny x8gUP
Mercer and others. zj`!ZY?fv
]X4A)%i
Produced by David Foster and Humberto Gattica, oe4Fy}Y_;
Irresponsible includes a touching Buble written ballad Cq/*/jBM
called "Lost," along with a rocking duet with Boys II Men +&-/$\"
of the old Mel Torme' hit "Coming Home Baby." Brazilian Al' sY^B
singer Ivan Lens also makes a guest appearance on the G4MNcy
Clapton written "Wonderful Tonight". The pairing of these 1|n,s-
two voices from two totally different generations ShHm7+fV
magnifies Buble's summation of this record-love is cq % =DZ
universal and ageless. -~v;'zOO
6#.z:_
As for the album, Buble says, "It's all about love. We're e/F=5_Io
either in love, dreaming about love recovering from it, Q6kkMLh
wishing for it or reflecting on it. That's what this nP4jOq*H
record is about." pz@_%IUS
 g5X+iV
Michael BubleThe Grammy-nominated, four-time Juno Award O\B_=KWDO
winning Buble arrived on the music scene with a ;wgm 'jr
groundbreaking 2003 self-titled debut CD and embarked on "DfvoQP
what would virtually become a perpetual concert tour (PE"_80Z
circling the globe continuously for the last five years. mTYEK4}
His multi platinum follow-up, "It's Time," sold over 5.5 lJu2}XRiU
million copies and has remained on the Billboard x>;! `}x
Traditional Jazz charts for a staggering two years and in Iz!Blk
the No. 1 slot for over 80 weeks, holding the all time B {f&'1pp/
record. His reputation as one of the world's consumate L5of(gQ5]
'entertainers' is by now legendary. "Buble's stage EM;]dLh
presence is magnetic. He has charisma, energy and when he u0#q) L8
sings, words float out of his mouth; he swivels like Elvis z';p275
with a flash of a tap dancing Fred Astaire. He has fun," r^VH [c@c
raved the London Sunday Times Magazine. !ZD[ $lt+

Ask Michael Bubl?how he felt going in to record his third BRFA%FZ,
studio album, Call Me Irresponsible, and this artist with %{5mkO&,2
11 million albums sold and two Grammy nominations under 'X"@C;q
his belt can sum it up in one word. Mfuw y
Pfe&wA't
"Terrified," he says simply. Terrified? NHPpHY3^.
[^P25K
"Completely, because I knew that it had to be better than g O,X
the first two - that it had to show growth without DU4NPys]y
alienating anyone, and that's a tough line. So I sat there +JB. EW/
from the very beginning and came up with the songs, put 2YdMsu~
together the skeleton, and thought about what arrangers I ke2'?,f
would hire. I even ended up at the mastering session, {1>V~e8t
which artists rarely attend. I wanted to be involved in ?o"wyF A*
every aspect because I wanted it to be conceptually 7?qRY9Qu
beautiful." uf^"Y3

Bubl?has certainly achieved success on that front. As P+wV.pF|
with his previous two 143/Reprise bestsellers, 2003's /^ hB6_'D
self-titled debut and 2005's multi-platinum follow-up It's yfnqu4Cn
Time, Call Me Irresponsible boasts more of Bubl?s <hkg~4EKc
buoyant, modern interpretations of standards from a ~:D}L
variety of eras, including songs by such greats as Leonard }aRV)F
Cohen, Eric Clapton, Cy Coleman, Gamble and Huff, and ,/C<GFae
others, as well as two self-penned originals, including A+69_?B TH
the first single, the uplifting love song called G5Y 8]N
"Everything." mBhG"0:
="P 3TP
But it's hardly business as usual for this Vancouver ;mu9;ixZ
native. It never is for Bubl? whose irrepressible spirit, cx&jnF#$
engaging humor, and confident charisma once led the New d /+sR@\
York Times to call him "an entertainer who is completely T""X~+{Z@
at home on the stage." #| `W ]
q<>LK
Michael BubleHis new CD, which he calls "my remark on the CY? ]o4IV
state of love," contains a depth of feeling that will [kMXr'TyPX
surprise and delight long-term fans and impress those new c1'OIK C
to his music. "To me, what's different about this CD is -z-58FLlO
that it has a certain raw emotion because I recorded many Y]0oF_ :7
of these songs live in the studio." Bubl?introduces the bBW(# Q_a
electrifying, impeccably orchestrated set to follow with '{@hBB+ D
the opening track, Cy Coleman's "The Best Is Yet To Come," ;m,lS_[c
(made famous by Sinatra, Ella Fitzgerald, and others). MP-A^QT
Then there's the exhilarating, salsa-flavored "It Had J@=1zL
Better Be Tonight," written by Johnny Mercer and Henry KCGs*kp>
Mancini, which Bubl?attacks with a hot-blooded /iQ}DbtRb
vengeance-"another very sexy songand edgy." From there, _~d C>`K
he takes on "Me and Mrs. Jones," the 1972 Gamble and Huff Y [0 S
classic popularized by soul singer Billy Paul. "David qDxz`}Ly=
(Foster) brought it to me, I'd never actually heard it B)Hs>Mh|W
before," Bubl?says. "We wanted it to be authentic and ! %S9H2Lv
tell the story." Next up is Leonard Cohen's "I'm Your Man" E%:!* 9
from the Canadian singer/songwriter's 1988 album of the o 4L9Xb7=G
same name. "I always thought it was a wonderful song - \( LKLlam
desperate, sexy, and dark," Bubl?says. "I actually called \_#0Z+pX
Leonard and told him I was afraid of performing it live. KM*sLC#
When he asked me why, I said because he'd written too sexy 4r\Sbh
of a song and I was afraid men were going to throw their KwlN
underpants at me. He just laughed and said, 'I wouldn't ]0GOSh
worry too much about that.'" 2[}^ zTtA
'""qMRCm
Then there's a swinging, hep-cat version of Mel Torm?s .;u(uB;J6
1962 pop hit "Comin' Home Baby," featuring vocals from NDm@\<MIzB
Philly soul faves Boys II Men; and a sentimental, ?"$W=*P\o
self-penned ballad "Lost," co-written with Chang and 4d)w2t?H%
Canadian singer-songwriter Jann Arden. "It's an anthem for ;``*]tY$
star-crossed lovers," Bubl?says. "Sometimes relationships y/K%F,WMf
don't work out because love isn't enough, but that doesn't HWxk>F0
mean you have to discard the person. There is a way to end Ka1 F7b
a relationship and still be there when they need you. 5@" bx=
That's basically what it's about." 6d&BN7B
f#pT6
A languid, emotional rendition of Eric Clapton's ballad sZ{Kl\1@
"Wonderful Tonight," on which Bubl?duets with Brazilian 0NK]u~T<
singer-songwriter Ivan Lins, whose work has been covered g+hz>^Wg
by everyone from Sarah Vaughan to Ella Fitzgerald follows. z%Ywjfn'
"I've always been very sentimental about that song," Bubl? pv+FPB
says. "What is interesting about that track is here I am, s1<_=sfnT
a 31-year-old guy from Canada who's singing a song that y%Ui)UMnw]
means so much to me with a 61-year-old man from Brazil, s03 DL
who's singing in his own language but it means the exact f&bY=$iff
same thing to both of us." [Qa0uM#SU
s[)2z3
Other highlight's include two of Bubl?s original songs, %L+/GtxK
including the acoustic-guitar driven "Everything," 'm# -)R!
co-written with Amy Foster-Gillies and Alan Chang (who j wlmWO6
also co-wrote Bubl?s touching hit ballad "Home" off It's W1f]A#t<
Time) and produced by fellow Canadian Bob Rock (Bon Jovi, wb 2N$Ew=
Metallica, Motley Crue, Bryan Adams). "I wrote that song *YZ' Uy?
about the great happiness of real love, but at the same 41>Bm*if
time I was making a statement about the world," Bubl? 1b+ B
says. "We're living in really crazy times, and I wanted to HNxJ`x~Z~
say that no matter what's happening, this person in my 0|9(oP/:
life is what really makes it worthwhile." `9B xDp]I
M. 1R]x( |
Michael BubleRounding out Call Me Irresponsible is Frank _|D8~\y
Sinatra's "That's Life," which, in Bubl?s hands, becomes :!;BOCTYI
a powerhouse complete with a full choir. "I brought the ' jR83A*
song to a wonderful guy named Mervyn Warren, from the XA5gosq
acappella group Take 6 and said, 'I want to take this to k[R/RhHQ,
church; I want to make it a huge gospel tune.' So he z kYl IUD
brought in a choir and I love it. It's one of my favorite "Nj(0&
things about the record." cpz}!D
81V,yq]
To help him capture the intensity in the songs' meanings, J)Dw`=O0n
Bubl?turned to his long-standing team of producers, which 2f]:n
include 14-time Grammy winner David Foster (Barbra EMU~gwPR
Streisand, Celine Dion, Josh Groban) and producer/engineer fz31di9$
Humberto Gatica (Elton John, Destiny's Child, Michael 8)&yjY
Jackson). "We definitely have a great working relationship %1<No/
where I think I interfere just enough," Bubl?says with a x-:vpv%6y
laugh. "I mean, David is the greatest producer in the h ^g"FSzP
world. They're both so amazing, I couldn't do it without t*5d'aE`/
them." .!RBh LH_g

Foster first discovered Bubl?seven years ago when he /xJ,nwp7
caught the aspiring star performing at the wedding of d*khda;Vj
former Canadian Prime Minster's daughter. The son of a 2x{@19w)C
British Columbia-based salmon and herring fisherman, Bubl? 17tph;
spent the months his parents were away with his .qi$X!0
music-loving Italian grandfather, who introduced him to aCcBmc
the singers who would become Bubl?s idols: Bobby Darin, S&}7jRH1
Dean Martin, Sinatra, Ray Charles, and Elvis Presley. .+]e9mV
"These guys were triple threats," he says. "They could *E+2E^B
sing, they could dance, they could act. They were }OJ*o
entertainers, and I believe that's a lost art now." `sQ\j Nu
@4^5C-
Bubl?honed his skills as a showman through years of >~_y\
performing in hotel lounges and smoky bars - gigs his 9G` 2t~%
grandfather, a plumber, helped the underage singer secure h']R P
by trading his plumbing services. By the time Foster met YN_#x
him 2000, Bubl?already knew exactly what he brought to d?Gf T$1
the table - a warm, engaging voice and unassailable taste \ v44Vmfz
in music. His debut album was an international smash, "B*a| 'n!
going Top Ten in the U.K. and Canada, and earning him his ,w,>pO'[
first Juno award for Best New Talent in 2004. The #R4Mv(BG
follow-up, It's Time, sold more than 5.5 million copies, s+(%N8B
and has remained on the Billboard Traditional Jazz charts 7f8%WD)
for a staggering two years, and in the Number 1 slot for H[@uE*W
more than 80 weeks, an all-time record. TyD*m$`y
\)eHf 7H
But along with his passion for creating great music in the ~0w7E0DE[
studio, performing on stage is pure paradise for Michael J5)e 7
Bubl? "I just love getting in front of people," he says. ,w; ~R4x
"It's so important to be in touch with your audience. VQU[5C
They've paid their money. I want them to be entertained. C6,GgDH`
If they want to cry or laugh or dance or sing or yell, p18-yt; 1
they can do whatever they want. My responsibility is just eW"i'\`0
to take them away." I.r &;

Special edition includes the bonus track "Love" 1 >jG*tr
