The Shore is a richly talented young quartet whose seamless ensemble sound welds a mix of influences, from Neil Young to Coldplay to the Verve to Britrock.Bringing it all together in a grand musical vision reminiscent of the best that rock can be while remaining utterly innovative and original, the L.A.band's self-titled debut album, produced by Rick Parker (Joe Firstman, Miranda Lee Richards ), claims a beachhead for The Shore.

t's easy to be suspicious. How does a completely unknown band from Los Angeles arrive so fully formed, delivering a self-titled debut album that sounds uncannily like the great lost work of wild-eyed British rockers like the Verve or Oasis? How does said band conjure up both Bob Dylan and Neil Young in a song called "Different Ways" without setting off riots in the streets? It takes brass, no doubt. But it also takes massive pop tunes like "Everything We Are" and "It Ain't Right," which pair dreamy melodies with shuffling psychedelic grooves and just a touch of inoffensive noodling.
