In 1996, Fran Healy borrowed 600 from his mum to pay for the recording of bD`h/jYv
Travis's very fi rst single. That track, the rousingly self-descriptive All I #z =$*\u
Want To Do Is Rock, was released on the band's own label, Red Telephone Box, ]cM,m2^2
with a sleeve designed by Healy. Only 750 copies were r2m&z%N&
made, but that was enough to kick-start a career for the four Glaswegian pals \k3EFSm
which has since reaped numerous hit singles, awards, platinum-selling albums and 6t4Khiwx
festival headline slots. Famous Now, twelve years on, the band have made 'Ode To nL+y"O
J Smith', their loudest, edgiest and most arresting record since that formative 6z2%/P-'
track. Fittingly, they're revived Red Telephone Box to release it, with Healy g\1|<jb3
once again handling artwork duties. The big difference this time is that, having .u:aX$t+
shifted ten million albums in the intervening period, Mrs Healy's funding was :6J&%n
