The one and only Michael Buble's eagerly awaited new CD VrP{U-`
"Call Me Irresponsible' will be released on May 1st, it T1.U (::
was confirmed by his record label, Reprise Records. The M'<% d[
first single from the new album, the Buble penned z EtsMU
"Everything", has just been released and will be performed Z'y&11
by the artist on The Today Show on the day of the release. r(uo-/7z

The Vancouver native, whose collective worldwide record La9}JvQoX
sales are over 11 million units, is also scheduled to [BJzZ>cY
begin a global concert tour in Reno, Nevada on July 13th y$]<m+1
with stops including Chicago, New York, Philadelphia, I[ \7Bf
Atlanta, Los Angeles and Seattle. uGb+ *tD

Call Me Irresponsible highlights include Buble's energy 6',Hs
infused interpretations on standards from a variety of zQ{bMj<S
eras including songs by such greats as Leonard Cohen, Eric IauLT;!X
Clapton, Cy Coleman, Gamble and Huff, Harold Arlen, Johnny iJ^}{-
Mercer and others. Gg ~0>XS
i]? Eq?k
Produced by David Foster and Humberto Gattica, 5;" $X 1{
Irresponsible includes a touching Buble written ballad _v0iH
called "Lost," along with a rocking duet with Boys II Men tJ K58m$
of the old Mel Torme' hit "Coming Home Baby." Brazilian cxSHSv 1;
singer Ivan Lens also makes a guest appearance on the {\0V$#q
Clapton written "Wonderful Tonight". The pairing of these @XM*N7
two voices from two totally different generations 'Gc{cNbXIA
magnifies Buble's summation of this record-love is Z^%a 1>`
universal and ageless. saiXFM 7J
3w"JzC@
As for the album, Buble says, "It's all about love. We're S@u46X>
either in love, dreaming about love recovering from it, !(?7V
wishing for it or reflecting on it. That's what this p{LbTjdNc
record is about." T5zS3O
K=JDl-#!
Michael BubleThe Grammy-nominated, four-time Juno Award %E&oe $[B
winning Buble arrived on the music scene with a v/rBjUc+X
groundbreaking 2003 self-titled debut CD and embarked on 6JZ>&HA
what would virtually become a perpetual concert tour E9j<+Ik
circling the globe continuously for the last five years. Z+y'w#MZL
His multi platinum follow-up, "It's Time," sold over 5.5 Gkem_Z
million copies and has remained on the Billboard '%ilF1#
Traditional Jazz charts for a staggering two years and in bS~Y_]B
the No. 1 slot for over 80 weeks, holding the all time b:hta\%/2
record. His reputation as one of the world's consumate ydO+=R0M
'entertainers' is by now legendary. "Buble's stage _3 oo%?}
presence is magnetic. He has charisma, energy and when he VED~v#.c
sings, words float out of his mouth; he swivels like Elvis *w(n%f
with a flash of a tap dancing Fred Astaire. He has fun," s) U1U6O
raved the London Sunday Times Magazine. Qe _{<E
>xS({1A}
Ask Michael Bubl?how he felt going in to record his third nfHjIYid
studio album, Call Me Irresponsible, and this artist with b7\>=
11 million albums sold and two Grammy nominations under fb`x1Q
his belt can sum it up in one word. c:.5@eq^
"kFH*I+v
"Terrified," he says simply. Terrified? r1-MO`6
6}I X{nQI
"Completely, because I knew that it had to be better than EniV-Uj\D
the first two - that it had to show growth without H i8V=+
alienating anyone, and that's a tough line. So I sat there <#?dPDMG.*
from the very beginning and came up with the songs, put Cfmd*,
together the skeleton, and thought about what arrangers I dGOFSH
would hire. I even ended up at the mastering session, tmS2%1o
which artists rarely attend. I wanted to be involved in i'H]N8,A
every aspect because I wanted it to be conceptually $%DoLpE>
beautiful." N~=PecQ
0*5Jq#5
Bubl?has certainly achieved success on that front. As "o`?-bQ:
with his previous two 143/Reprise bestsellers, 2003's iQ:eR]7X
self-titled debut and 2005's multi-platinum follow-up It's E-C]<{`O
Time, Call Me Irresponsible boasts more of Bubl?s L%Zr3Ct
buoyant, modern interpretations of standards from a K)>F03=uE
variety of eras, including songs by such greats as Leonard K<5yjG8&
Cohen, Eric Clapton, Cy Coleman, Gamble and Huff, and X/:V{2
others, as well as two self-penned originals, including &}e>JgBe0
the first single, the uplifting love song called ,NZllnW
"Everything." ANBuX6q
duEXp]f!
But it's hardly business as usual for this Vancouver J?m/u6
native. It never is for Bubl? whose irrepressible spirit, KMy"DVqE
engaging humor, and confident charisma once led the New ynM~&]fk#k
York Times to call him "an entertainer who is completely &t<g K D
at home on the stage." ^uUA41o`eJ
}W:Z>vam+
Michael BubleHis new CD, which he calls "my remark on the 8,IF%Z+LI
state of love," contains a depth of feeling that will e16H @
surprise and delight long-term fans and impress those new t{iRCj
to his music. "To me, what's different about this CD is k-n`R)p:
that it has a certain raw emotion because I recorded many -~8PI2
of these songs live in the studio." Bubl?introduces the K% FK
electrifying, impeccably orchestrated set to follow with &t8,326;
the opening track, Cy Coleman's "The Best Is Yet To Come," < r~hU*u
(made famous by Sinatra, Ella Fitzgerald, and others). CUH u=
Then there's the exhilarating, salsa-flavored "It Had `K+%/|!
Better Be Tonight," written by Johnny Mercer and Henry su=MMr>
Mancini, which Bubl?attacks with a hot-blooded [06m{QJ)1
vengeance-"another very sexy songand edgy." From there, lmHQ"z 3G
he takes on "Me and Mrs. Jones," the 1972 Gamble and Huff U"8Hw@
classic popularized by soul singer Billy Paul. "David #2%V
(Foster) brought it to me, I'd never actually heard it W|fE]RY
before," Bubl?says. "We wanted it to be authentic and h.#:7d(g
tell the story." Next up is Leonard Cohen's "I'm Your Man" 8Snv, Lb`^
from the Canadian singer/songwriter's 1988 album of the C=o-3w
same name. "I always thought it was a wonderful song - :tO4LEb
desperate, sexy, and dark," Bubl?says. "I actually called QnS^ G{
Leonard and told him I was afraid of performing it live. ?:`sE"
When he asked me why, I said because he'd written too sexy zo@vuB.
of a song and I was afraid men were going to throw their :]F66dh+
underpants at me. He just laughed and said, 'I wouldn't %XukiA+
worry too much about that.'" }[z7V
 N#9N ^#1
Then there's a swinging, hep-cat version of Mel Torm?s MMKN^a"GA
1962 pop hit "Comin' Home Baby," featuring vocals from v]on0Pi!
Philly soul faves Boys II Men; and a sentimental, meV Z_f/
self-penned ballad "Lost," co-written with Chang and )tJaw#Mih
Canadian singer-songwriter Jann Arden. "It's an anthem for Ix_w.f=8
star-crossed lovers," Bubl?says. "Sometimes relationships ',`Qx{tQ)
don't work out because love isn't enough, but that doesn't f:\)! &W
mean you have to discard the person. There is a way to end ~ i+XVo
a relationship and still be there when they need you. ($<&H>j0
That's basically what it's about." X);'[/]E*
?Ybq]J\q
A languid, emotional rendition of Eric Clapton's ballad h@O\j&#
"Wonderful Tonight," on which Bubl?duets with Brazilian sS{Co8EJn
singer-songwriter Ivan Lins, whose work has been covered x#SE%j?
by everyone from Sarah Vaughan to Ella Fitzgerald follows. =PA?6Bm
"I've always been very sentimental about that song," Bubl? o%j?}J7y
says. "What is interesting about that track is here I am, !l#aq\:}~e
a 31-year-old guy from Canada who's singing a song that @Hp%4$=
means so much to me with a 61-year-old man from Brazil, +|g*<0T5<
who's singing in his own language but it means the exact S+.>{0!S"
same thing to both of us." e?;c9]XO,o
EMe1!)
Other highlight's include two of Bubl?s original songs, N}nE9z5
including the acoustic-guitar driven "Everything," u*%mUh
co-written with Amy Foster-Gillies and Alan Chang (who 2 ^"j]g>mj
also co-wrote Bubl?s touching hit ballad "Home" off It's *ezMS
Time) and produced by fellow Canadian Bob Rock (Bon Jovi, IfB .2e`
Metallica, Motley Crue, Bryan Adams). "I wrote that song Ump Hae
about the great happiness of real love, but at the same qZ>_{b0f
time I was making a statement about the world," Bubl? 'vt Jl
says. "We're living in really crazy times, and I wanted to 8*b{8%<K
say that no matter what's happening, this person in my |) ~-Wy
life is what really makes it worthwhile." Q{S{|.w-
*A48shfO
Michael BubleRounding out Call Me Irresponsible is Frank .53 M!
Sinatra's "That's Life," which, in Bubl?s hands, becomes 4Dzg r,V
a powerhouse complete with a full choir. "I brought the TtrO_D
song to a wonderful guy named Mervyn Warren, from the c oZK
acappella group Take 6 and said, 'I want to take this to ,aezMbg
church; I want to make it a huge gospel tune.' So he ?QKD YH(
brought in a choir and I love it. It's one of my favorite w6> P[oW
things about the record." 1!)'dL0mI
4KxuSI^q
To help him capture the intensity in the songs' meanings, yy/'B:g
Bubl?turned to his long-standing team of producers, which Jjj;v2uSK
include 14-time Grammy winner David Foster (Barbra rd%uc~/
Streisand, Celine Dion, Josh Groban) and producer/engineer Z >R@
Humberto Gatica (Elton John, Destiny's Child, Michael F|+B8&-v
Jackson). "We definitely have a great working relationship _nz_.w0H9
where I think I interfere just enough," Bubl?says with a ,<P"\W
laugh. "I mean, David is the greatest producer in the Q'^'G>MBJ
world. They're both so amazing, I couldn't do it without aJ=)5%$6kc
them." q0ab]g+
cyd&bxPgj+
Foster first discovered Bubl?seven years ago when he C=Fu1Hpb
caught the aspiring star performing at the wedding of *wx%jbJo
former Canadian Prime Minster's daughter. The son of a Sx~mc_ekY
British Columbia-based salmon and herring fisherman, Bubl? hunlKIg
spent the months his parents were away with his <%w TI<m,-
music-loving Italian grandfather, who introduced him to a"Iu!$&N
the singers who would become Bubl?s idols: Bobby Darin, ~eP~c"L
Dean Martin, Sinatra, Ray Charles, and Elvis Presley. v~AshmP
"These guys were triple threats," he says. "They could eV(.\Lj
sing, they could dance, they could act. They were WQCnkP
entertainers, and I believe that's a lost art now." &m36h`tM
T; [T`
Bubl?honed his skills as a showman through years of d, i4WKp
performing in hotel lounges and smoky bars - gigs his fO5L[U^`
grandfather, a plumber, helped the underage singer secure ( -q0!]E
by trading his plumbing services. By the time Foster met $tW E9_
him 2000, Bubl?already knew exactly what he brought to %}N01P|X>
the table - a warm, engaging voice and unassailable taste y"Fu=
in music. His debut album was an international smash, -0;{
going Top Ten in the U.K. and Canada, and earning him his !Y|xu07
first Juno award for Best New Talent in 2004. The )R<93`q
follow-up, It's Time, sold more than 5.5 million copies, ,@ p4HN*
and has remained on the Billboard Traditional Jazz charts 7~1Fy{tc
for a staggering two years, and in the Number 1 slot for CaED(0
more than 80 weeks, an all-time record. R86i2',
nt&% sM-X
But along with his passion for creating great music in the `%Kj+^|DS
studio, performing on stage is pure paradise for Michael 5G2ueRVb
Bubl? "I just love getting in front of people," he says. < <0[PJ
"It's so important to be in touch with your audience. >\'}&oi
They've paid their money. I want them to be entertained. {%('|(57
If they want to cry or laugh or dance or sing or yell, 8f~*T
they can do whatever they want. My responsibility is just !W&|kvT^
to take them away." tr0kTW$Ad
