The one and only Michael Buble's eagerly awaited new CD 6IG?t
"Call Me Irresponsible' will be released on May 1st, it Kc?4q=7q
was confirmed by his record label, Reprise Records. The ^L5-2;s<U'
first single from the new album, the Buble penned 3q}j"x?
"Everything", has just been released and will be performed w+>+hq
by the artist on The Today Show on the day of the release. \OA{&G.

The Vancouver native, whose collective worldwide record jOVF+9M
sales are over 11 million units, is also scheduled to EC;>-s
begin a global concert tour in Reno, Nevada on July 13th Cp(2]Eb
with stops including Chicago, New York, Philadelphia, Nw'03Jzx_
Atlanta, Los Angeles and Seattle. '"fJA/O

Call Me Irresponsible highlights include Buble's energy i-Rn,}v
infused interpretations on standards from a variety of 6ki2/ Q
eras including songs by such greats as Leonard Cohen, Eric @]vY[O!&;
Clapton, Cy Coleman, Gamble and Huff, Harold Arlen, Johnny EM*I%|n@m
Mercer and others. P2a5<#_|
1*9.K'
Produced by David Foster and Humberto Gattica, &K\80wGK
Irresponsible includes a touching Buble written ballad :${tts2g
called "Lost," along with a rocking duet with Boys II Men Bj1%}B
of the old Mel Torme' hit "Coming Home Baby." Brazilian R ,qQC<
singer Ivan Lens also makes a guest appearance on the ];LFv5"
Clapton written "Wonderful Tonight". The pairing of these >< $LV&
two voices from two totally different generations WA8<:#{e
magnifies Buble's summation of this record-love is @wgd 3BU
universal and ageless. ]~I+d/k d
uy'seJ
As for the album, Buble says, "It's all about love. We're )rK2%\Z
either in love, dreaming about love recovering from it, \~ChbPnc
wishing for it or reflecting on it. That's what this +ODua@ULFB
record is about." OALNZKP

Michael BubleThe Grammy-nominated, four-time Juno Award ^~;ia7V&2
winning Buble arrived on the music scene with a +Cw_qS"=
groundbreaking 2003 self-titled debut CD and embarked on W~'xJ
what would virtually become a perpetual concert tour )"pvF8JR%3
circling the globe continuously for the last five years. R~4X?@ZB
His multi platinum follow-up, "It's Time," sold over 5.5 n(J>'Z
million copies and has remained on the Billboard RyJy%| \-S
Traditional Jazz charts for a staggering two years and in xKG7d8=
the No. 1 slot for over 80 weeks, holding the all time 3$nK
record. His reputation as one of the world's consumate ^obuMQ;
'entertainers' is by now legendary. "Buble's stage z~pp7
presence is magnetic. He has charisma, energy and when he V_gl#e#
sings, words float out of his mouth; he swivels like Elvis x/umwT,ov
with a flash of a tap dancing Fred Astaire. He has fun," `y3'v]
raved the London Sunday Times Magazine. :J`@@H

Ask Michael Bubl?how he felt going in to record his third E7fQ9]
studio album, Call Me Irresponsible, and this artist with t1adS:)s
11 million albums sold and two Grammy nominations under e4tIO
his belt can sum it up in one word. MqnUym
$] We|
"Terrified," he says simply. Terrified? #m.e9MU
v 49o$s4J
"Completely, because I knew that it had to be better than RW L0@\
the first two - that it had to show growth without ]=00<~ l*q
alienating anyone, and that's a tough line. So I sat there . ,^WCyvq
from the very beginning and came up with the songs, put 2|,L 9
together the skeleton, and thought about what arrangers I Reikf}9Q
would hire. I even ended up at the mastering session, IC0L&;En
which artists rarely attend. I wanted to be involved in dT|f<E/P
every aspect because I wanted it to be conceptually CaJ-oy8
beautiful." Dcvul4Q
1.cP3k l
Bubl?has certainly achieved success on that front. As ?8-!hU@QC
with his previous two 143/Reprise bestsellers, 2003's {h?pvH_>
self-titled debut and 2005's multi-platinum follow-up It's L/"};VI
Time, Call Me Irresponsible boasts more of Bubl?s l(?B0
buoyant, modern interpretations of standards from a etr-\Cp
variety of eras, including songs by such greats as Leonard b# N"} -\^
Cohen, Eric Clapton, Cy Coleman, Gamble and Huff, and fY!?rZ)$
others, as well as two self-penned originals, including X_TjJmc
the first single, the uplifting love song called 0SIC=p=J
"Everything." ETdXk&AN
! I@w3`
But it's hardly business as usual for this Vancouver KS$t
native. It never is for Bubl? whose irrepressible spirit, _6NUtU
engaging humor, and confident charisma once led the New *p}mn#ru-
York Times to call him "an entertainer who is completely gF{ehU%
at home on the stage." v|%41xOsr
q H}8TC
Michael BubleHis new CD, which he calls "my remark on the lGd'_~'=
state of love," contains a depth of feeling that will 1MLL
surprise and delight long-term fans and impress those new OyZR&,q
to his music. "To me, what's different about this CD is JN0h3nZ_
that it has a certain raw emotion because I recorded many + Q-b}
of these songs live in the studio." Bubl?introduces the ~=|}!A(
electrifying, impeccably orchestrated set to follow with N)X Tmh2v|
the opening track, Cy Coleman's "The Best Is Yet To Come," 86r"hy~
(made famous by Sinatra, Ella Fitzgerald, and others). hC<ROD
Then there's the exhilarating, salsa-flavored "It Had !DZ=`a?y
Better Be Tonight," written by Johnny Mercer and Henry ,MCTb'=G
Mancini, which Bubl?attacks with a hot-blooded +`HMl;0m
vengeance-"another very sexy songand edgy." From there, S}@7Z`
he takes on "Me and Mrs. Jones," the 1972 Gamble and Huff ] 3{t}qY$A
classic popularized by soul singer Billy Paul. "David )7>GXZG>=
(Foster) brought it to me, I'd never actually heard it j<t3bM-G
before," Bubl?says. "We wanted it to be authentic and @t9HRL?T~
tell the story." Next up is Leonard Cohen's "I'm Your Man" PftK>,+,
from the Canadian singer/songwriter's 1988 album of the -+*h'zZ[<w
same name. "I always thought it was a wonderful song - F^yW3|Sb
desperate, sexy, and dark," Bubl?says. "I actually called iHD!v7d7
Leonard and told him I was afraid of performing it live. 2LwJ%!
When he asked me why, I said because he'd written too sexy ]@&X*~c^Z
of a song and I was afraid men were going to throw their DKIH{:L7
underpants at me. He just laughed and said, 'I wouldn't Ei4^__g\'
worry too much about that.'" <7^|@L 6
%Rk|B`ST
Then there's a swinging, hep-cat version of Mel Torm?s u&:N`f
1962 pop hit "Comin' Home Baby," featuring vocals from = l`)b
Philly soul faves Boys II Men; and a sentimental, NIV}hf YF
self-penned ballad "Lost," co-written with Chang and Pd91<L
Canadian singer-songwriter Jann Arden. "It's an anthem for z#tIa
star-crossed lovers," Bubl?says. "Sometimes relationships iq; | i!
don't work out because love isn't enough, but that doesn't C*Vm}|)
mean you have to discard the person. There is a way to end {D4FYr J
a relationship and still be there when they need you. 6@N,'a8r
That's basically what it's about." 0JlNUO5Nt
3(BL
A languid, emotional rendition of Eric Clapton's ballad X0.H(p#s
"Wonderful Tonight," on which Bubl?duets with Brazilian &6x(%o|
singer-songwriter Ivan Lins, whose work has been covered '}Fe&%
by everyone from Sarah Vaughan to Ella Fitzgerald follows. yfG;OnkZ
"I've always been very sentimental about that song," Bubl? pR S!
says. "What is interesting about that track is here I am, o :d7IL
a 31-year-old guy from Canada who's singing a song that ppAbG,7
means so much to me with a 61-year-old man from Brazil, v)5;~.+%
who's singing in his own language but it means the exact "V|Rq]_+%
same thing to both of us." V\L;EHtc$
jx}&%p X
Other highlight's include two of Bubl?s original songs, P<]U
including the acoustic-guitar driven "Everything," .WF"vUp
co-written with Amy Foster-Gillies and Alan Chang (who n7!T{+ge
also co-wrote Bubl?s touching hit ballad "Home" off It's WPNB!" E98
Time) and produced by fellow Canadian Bob Rock (Bon Jovi, M)bQvjj
Metallica, Motley Crue, Bryan Adams). "I wrote that song cgb>Naa<
about the great happiness of real love, but at the same mfr aw2H
time I was making a statement about the world," Bubl? "DW~E\Y
says. "We're living in really crazy times, and I wanted to l9.`2d]o
say that no matter what's happening, this person in my 46C%at M0}
life is what really makes it worthwhile." ._}}@V_/
LqWiw24#
Michael BubleRounding out Call Me Irresponsible is Frank WcN4ff-
Sinatra's "That's Life," which, in Bubl?s hands, becomes :aNjh
a powerhouse complete with a full choir. "I brought the -<g9 ) CV5
song to a wonderful guy named Mervyn Warren, from the (p{X.X+
acappella group Take 6 and said, 'I want to take this to )d3 09O
church; I want to make it a huge gospel tune.' So he 0+>g/ >
brought in a choir and I love it. It's one of my favorite 'Ea3(OsuXn
things about the record." <XeDJ8 '
m%|\AZBA#
To help him capture the intensity in the songs' meanings, iXWHI3
Bubl?turned to his long-standing team of producers, which uKJ:)oyaCP
include 14-time Grammy winner David Foster (Barbra 4$Ai!a
Streisand, Celine Dion, Josh Groban) and producer/engineer B {Cm`f8E
Humberto Gatica (Elton John, Destiny's Child, Michael SyL"Bmi
Jackson). "We definitely have a great working relationship DG TLlBkT
where I think I interfere just enough," Bubl?says with a O/~T+T%
laugh. "I mean, David is the greatest producer in the FQWjL>NB
world. They're both so amazing, I couldn't do it without UFB|IeX?q
them." YgEd%Z%4
 /~"-q
Foster first discovered Bubl?seven years ago when he v `S5[{6
caught the aspiring star performing at the wedding of i /X3k&
former Canadian Prime Minster's daughter. The son of a k \OZ'dS
British Columbia-based salmon and herring fisherman, Bubl? xg p)G!
spent the months his parents were away with his 4&*lpl*N
music-loving Italian grandfather, who introduced him to ~>:JwTy
the singers who would become Bubl?s idols: Bobby Darin, Oc)n,D)0
Dean Martin, Sinatra, Ray Charles, and Elvis Presley. :,8y8z$+
"These guys were triple threats," he says. "They could g#I`P&
sing, they could dance, they could act. They were ;j0.#P:a
entertainers, and I believe that's a lost art now." Q6 *n'6
48xgl1R(j
Bubl?honed his skills as a showman through years of 7'wpPXdY1
performing in hotel lounges and smoky bars - gigs his 4!!|P
grandfather, a plumber, helped the underage singer secure c&D+=
by trading his plumbing services. By the time Foster met <exCK*G
him 2000, Bubl?already knew exactly what he brought to voZaJ2ho/O
the table - a warm, engaging voice and unassailable taste [<B,6nAl
in music. His debut album was an international smash, IogLkhWX
going Top Ten in the U.K. and Canada, and earning him his C >OeULD
first Juno award for Best New Talent in 2004. The wX] _Abk
follow-up, It's Time, sold more than 5.5 million copies, *"^X)Y{c+l
and has remained on the Billboard Traditional Jazz charts uI,*&bP
for a staggering two years, and in the Number 1 slot for ZcA"HD%
more than 80 weeks, an all-time record. fN9{@)2Mz
!WyJ@pFU^
But along with his passion for creating great music in the UC&$8^
studio, performing on stage is pure paradise for Michael ?wtKi#k'v#
Bubl? "I just love getting in front of people," he says. xM_#FxJb
"It's so important to be in touch with your audience. 2tz4Ag
They've paid their money. I want them to be entertained. +:Zwo+\kSN
If they want to cry or laugh or dance or sing or yell, \KV.lG!
they can do whatever they want. My responsibility is just SlsNtaNt
to take them away." L91(|gQP
