The one and only Michael Buble's eagerly awaited new CD 1z $}*`
"Call Me Irresponsible' will be released on May 1st, it z wniS6R1
was confirmed by his record label, Reprise Records. The k8t Na@H
first single from the new album, the Buble penned 0W<nE[U
"Everything", has just been released and will be performed `*2*xDuP
by the artist on The Today Show on the day of the release. sWpRX2{5,

The Vancouver native, whose collective worldwide record D^T7pO
sales are over 11 million units, is also scheduled to BSq;R G(
begin a global concert tour in Reno, Nevada on July 13th `hQ!*f6
with stops including Chicago, New York, Philadelphia, aLyhxmn ^)
Atlanta, Los Angeles and Seattle. d q+7K
VUg~[
Call Me Irresponsible highlights include Buble's energy d9Ow 2KrC
infused interpretations on standards from a variety of !_/8!95
eras including songs by such greats as Leonard Cohen, Eric y1jGf83
Clapton, Cy Coleman, Gamble and Huff, Harold Arlen, Johnny A$9_aqbj
Mercer and others. 41+E UMc
1rvf\[
Produced by David Foster and Humberto Gattica, \Im \*A
Irresponsible includes a touching Buble written ballad *t]&b ;=gE
called "Lost," along with a rocking duet with Boys II Men "8j;k5<
of the old Mel Torme' hit "Coming Home Baby." Brazilian ^F{)&#4
singer Ivan Lens also makes a guest appearance on the q[,R%6&'
Clapton written "Wonderful Tonight". The pairing of these KWuj_.;
two voices from two totally different generations *M\i4FO8
magnifies Buble's summation of this record-love is 88+\mX;A#
universal and ageless. ]@j"0F/`
=[tls^
As for the album, Buble says, "It's all about love. We're QWQ6j#`
either in love, dreaming about love recovering from it, J1v0 \
wishing for it or reflecting on it. That's what this lLwQridFXh
record is about." 5M.n'*

Michael BubleThe Grammy-nominated, four-time Juno Award @gVyLefS6g
winning Buble arrived on the music scene with a 7`'fUhB!
groundbreaking 2003 self-titled debut CD and embarked on V n!az}
what would virtually become a perpetual concert tour 5 xzB1n8
circling the globe continuously for the last five years. 1{fwr1b
His multi platinum follow-up, "It's Time," sold over 5.5 6w`}+3
million copies and has remained on the Billboard (Q p] 0
Traditional Jazz charts for a staggering two years and in dxhjPS~^Q
the No. 1 slot for over 80 weeks, holding the all time 1wNY}3
record. His reputation as one of the world's consumate w]P7!t
'entertainers' is by now legendary. "Buble's stage NtP.)
presence is magnetic. He has charisma, energy and when he NcY0pAR*
sings, words float out of his mouth; he swivels like Elvis Q17o5##x7
with a flash of a tap dancing Fred Astaire. He has fun," N~K)0RETn
raved the London Sunday Times Magazine. YC,.Y{oY{
3S2p:\]
Ask Michael Bubl?how he felt going in to record his third Ok{:QA~#
studio album, Call Me Irresponsible, and this artist with )V =K#MCK
11 million albums sold and two Grammy nominations under "GC]E8&>H
his belt can sum it up in one word. PAWr1]DI
Z=5}17kA
"Terrified," he says simply. Terrified? YPJx/@Z`
uP'w.nA&2
"Completely, because I knew that it had to be better than hZ /
the first two - that it had to show growth without `F`'b)
alienating anyone, and that's a tough line. So I sat there Vh[o[ U
from the very beginning and came up with the songs, put .)pRB7O3
together the skeleton, and thought about what arrangers I lIc9, |FL
would hire. I even ended up at the mastering session, %Fm;LQa ]
which artists rarely attend. I wanted to be involved in ~b<4>"7y.
every aspect because I wanted it to be conceptually X]^E:'E!
beautiful." >b"z`{tE
<}'B-k9
Bubl?has certainly achieved success on that front. As VNEZBy"F
with his previous two 143/Reprise bestsellers, 2003's zxmI/]3+/
self-titled debut and 2005's multi-platinum follow-up It's 3[O =2
Time, Call Me Irresponsible boasts more of Bubl?s nm|m1Z+U
buoyant, modern interpretations of standards from a 3ij I2Zy
variety of eras, including songs by such greats as Leonard NCpn^m)Q}
Cohen, Eric Clapton, Cy Coleman, Gamble and Huff, and bqwW9D(
others, as well as two self-penned originals, including Mh/>qyS *2
the first single, the uplifting love song called W%<]_u[-}
"Everything." 0-; P&m!!
~ z&A
But it's hardly business as usual for this Vancouver byxehJ6[V
native. It never is for Bubl? whose irrepressible spirit, 9 8BBsjkd
engaging humor, and confident charisma once led the New GBOmVQ $Hb
York Times to call him "an entertainer who is completely G?1V~6
at home on the stage." D$!p+Q
+ T-zf@j
Michael BubleHis new CD, which he calls "my remark on the NF.6(PG|
state of love," contains a depth of feeling that will G#n)|p
surprise and delight long-term fans and impress those new 5z mHb
to his music. "To me, what's different about this CD is T9v#Jb6
that it has a certain raw emotion because I recorded many fy-Z{
of these songs live in the studio." Bubl?introduces the ~5dq5_
electrifying, impeccably orchestrated set to follow with ?RAR
the opening track, Cy Coleman's "The Best Is Yet To Come," kvVz-P Jy
(made famous by Sinatra, Ella Fitzgerald, and others). `} Zbfe~
Then there's the exhilarating, salsa-flavored "It Had 1,!\7@<CT
Better Be Tonight," written by Johnny Mercer and Henry 6f9<&dCK
Mancini, which Bubl?attacks with a hot-blooded Y52xrIvl\
vengeance-"another very sexy songand edgy." From there, @X><lz
he takes on "Me and Mrs. Jones," the 1972 Gamble and Huff 4bjp*1*]
classic popularized by soul singer Billy Paul. "David 7,VWvmWJex
(Foster) brought it to me, I'd never actually heard it bh6wI%8H
before," Bubl?says. "We wanted it to be authentic and W%ZU& YBc
tell the story." Next up is Leonard Cohen's "I'm Your Man" l*MUDT@M8\
from the Canadian singer/songwriter's 1988 album of the W ]MJ!4
same name. "I always thought it was a wonderful song - qvT+d l3#[
desperate, sexy, and dark," Bubl?says. "I actually called }Fe{s;
Leonard and told him I was afraid of performing it live. _<}5[(qu
When he asked me why, I said because he'd written too sexy QN8Hz/}\
of a song and I was afraid men were going to throw their 5va&N<U
underpants at me. He just laughed and said, 'I wouldn't gJ~*rWBK:
worry too much about that.'" &UH z
s31_3?Vdf,
Then there's a swinging, hep-cat version of Mel Torm?s Im1qWe
1962 pop hit "Comin' Home Baby," featuring vocals from L*oL KigT
Philly soul faves Boys II Men; and a sentimental, .vF< 3p|
self-penned ballad "Lost," co-written with Chang and ]=VI"v<X
Canadian singer-songwriter Jann Arden. "It's an anthem for >w;W& [
star-crossed lovers," Bubl?says. "Sometimes relationships 0$Db@
don't work out because love isn't enough, but that doesn't {+mkXp])R
mean you have to discard the person. There is a way to end :=7;P)
a relationship and still be there when they need you. Ywq+l]5/p
That's basically what it's about." BjJ gQ`X
j?)`VLZ
A languid, emotional rendition of Eric Clapton's ballad <Y'YpH`l
"Wonderful Tonight," on which Bubl?duets with Brazilian w3UJw
singer-songwriter Ivan Lins, whose work has been covered _ShJ3\,K
by everyone from Sarah Vaughan to Ella Fitzgerald follows. CPE F,,\
"I've always been very sentimental about that song," Bubl? )@|Fh@|
says. "What is interesting about that track is here I am, =C2C~Xd
a 31-year-old guy from Canada who's singing a song that "T[jQr
means so much to me with a 61-year-old man from Brazil, 69[k ?')LM
who's singing in his own language but it means the exact zszx@`/3
same thing to both of us." WG r\R
u)]sJ1p
Other highlight's include two of Bubl?s original songs, w:@M|O4`
including the acoustic-guitar driven "Everything," <:t\P.
co-written with Amy Foster-Gillies and Alan Chang (who +ANIm^@
also co-wrote Bubl?s touching hit ballad "Home" off It's A'R sy6
Time) and produced by fellow Canadian Bob Rock (Bon Jovi, #e|kA&+8M
Metallica, Motley Crue, Bryan Adams). "I wrote that song ^K[tO54
about the great happiness of real love, but at the same q)i(wEdUZ
time I was making a statement about the world," Bubl? lhODNWi
says. "We're living in really crazy times, and I wanted to KA2B3\
say that no matter what's happening, this person in my v@SrEmg
life is what really makes it worthwhile." [cs8/Q8+
D4-U[l+K>
Michael BubleRounding out Call Me Irresponsible is Frank -iX!F~qS,
Sinatra's "That's Life," which, in Bubl?s hands, becomes `.-C6!
a powerhouse complete with a full choir. "I brought the 5-po>1g'
song to a wonderful guy named Mervyn Warren, from the 2xj`cFT
acappella group Take 6 and said, 'I want to take this to ts$UC $
church; I want to make it a huge gospel tune.' So he G\AQql(f4
brought in a choir and I love it. It's one of my favorite H<?yG->
things about the record." 55KL^+-~
haK5Oe/cE
To help him capture the intensity in the songs' meanings, CU&,Kq@
Bubl?turned to his long-standing team of producers, which 9xp ;$14
include 14-time Grammy winner David Foster (Barbra Y)RikF >
Streisand, Celine Dion, Josh Groban) and producer/engineer O:R{4Q*5
Humberto Gatica (Elton John, Destiny's Child, Michael $QnfpM%+=
Jackson). "We definitely have a great working relationship ^: j:;\;
where I think I interfere just enough," Bubl?says with a <p .[E]a2_
laugh. "I mean, David is the greatest producer in the &N nMz9
world. They're both so amazing, I couldn't do it without hY9u#3
them." EZW?(%b>H
h2 <$L
Foster first discovered Bubl?seven years ago when he }'- )
caught the aspiring star performing at the wedding of l!'iLq"K(
former Canadian Prime Minster's daughter. The son of a i*>yUav"
British Columbia-based salmon and herring fisherman, Bubl? 'm:B(N@+
spent the months his parents were away with his |sAg@kM
music-loving Italian grandfather, who introduced him to !d_A?q'hN
the singers who would become Bubl?s idols: Bobby Darin, P dnK@a
Dean Martin, Sinatra, Ray Charles, and Elvis Presley. !IU*Ayg
"These guys were triple threats," he says. "They could DR=1';63
sing, they could dance, they could act. They were 6*Qpq7Ml
entertainers, and I believe that's a lost art now." xb>+~59:
r"{1H
Bubl?honed his skills as a showman through years of 5E=Odep`
performing in hotel lounges and smoky bars - gigs his mg]dKp
grandfather, a plumber, helped the underage singer secure J n/=v\K@
by trading his plumbing services. By the time Foster met nVD YAg'
him 2000, Bubl?already knew exactly what he brought to rJwJ5U
the table - a warm, engaging voice and unassailable taste ?Fv(4g
in music. His debut album was an international smash, Lo4t:H&
going Top Ten in the U.K. and Canada, and earning him his ks4 ,2f,2
first Juno award for Best New Talent in 2004. The SO"P3X
follow-up, It's Time, sold more than 5.5 million copies, XPKcF I=
and has remained on the Billboard Traditional Jazz charts ( PlNaasV
for a staggering two years, and in the Number 1 slot for ;zODp+4@Q
more than 80 weeks, an all-time record. OwUbm0)h^V
B\yid@e
But along with his passion for creating great music in the mD3#$E!A1
studio, performing on stage is pure paradise for Michael [8#l~ |U
Bubl? "I just love getting in front of people," he says. ".IhV<R
"It's so important to be in touch with your audience. V:18]:
They've paid their money. I want them to be entertained. _A*0K,F-
If they want to cry or laugh or dance or sing or yell, 9b6h!(
they can do whatever they want. My responsibility is just HS9U.G>
to take them away." 9m4|1)
