The one and only Michael Buble's eagerly awaited new CD a~`eQ_N D
"Call Me Irresponsible' will be released on May 1st, it k8yEdi`
was confirmed by his record label, Reprise Records. The Eh`7X=Z7E
first single from the new album, the Buble penned Ufj`euY
"Everything", has just been released and will be performed m,28u3@r
by the artist on The Today Show on the day of the release. ;]puq

The Vancouver native, whose collective worldwide record ;LfXi 8)
sales are over 11 million units, is also scheduled to %Qgw7p4
begin a global concert tour in Reno, Nevada on July 13th hW' )Sp
with stops including Chicago, New York, Philadelphia, h8j.(
Atlanta, Los Angeles and Seattle. RU{twL.B

Call Me Irresponsible highlights include Buble's energy yu {d! {6
infused interpretations on standards from a variety of t,Lrfv])
eras including songs by such greats as Leonard Cohen, Eric >{ ]%F*p4
Clapton, Cy Coleman, Gamble and Huff, Harold Arlen, Johnny G5_=H,Vmd
Mercer and others. umfD>" ^I
~D+bh~
Produced by David Foster and Humberto Gattica, 1nM #kJ"
Irresponsible includes a touching Buble written ballad ldcqe$7,
called "Lost," along with a rocking duet with Boys II Men 68|E9^`l
of the old Mel Torme' hit "Coming Home Baby." Brazilian S\EyCi+
singer Ivan Lens also makes a guest appearance on the f%JIp#B
Clapton written "Wonderful Tonight". The pairing of these ITQA0PI SL
two voices from two totally different generations w(Ovr`o?9t
magnifies Buble's summation of this record-love is )}R0Y=e
universal and ageless. ~NgA
Ib!RD/
As for the album, Buble says, "It's all about love. We're + J{IRyBc
either in love, dreaming about love recovering from it, unzr0x {
wishing for it or reflecting on it. That's what this `7Q<'oK
record is about." ;;Y! ^^g

Michael BubleThe Grammy-nominated, four-time Juno Award ;+_:,_
winning Buble arrived on the music scene with a Q}JOU
groundbreaking 2003 self-titled debut CD and embarked on BVQqY$>
what would virtually become a perpetual concert tour m 0C@G5
circling the globe continuously for the last five years. u#fM_>ML
His multi platinum follow-up, "It's Time," sold over 5.5 /62!cp/F/D
million copies and has remained on the Billboard P5V}#;v
Traditional Jazz charts for a staggering two years and in 6wRd<]C
the No. 1 slot for over 80 weeks, holding the all time K3&qq[8.e
record. His reputation as one of the world's consumate c):/!Q
'entertainers' is by now legendary. "Buble's stage 539>WyG5
presence is magnetic. He has charisma, energy and when he Es`Px_k
sings, words float out of his mouth; he swivels like Elvis s) t@ol
with a flash of a tap dancing Fred Astaire. He has fun," M?49TOQA
raved the London Sunday Times Magazine. ;d$rdFA_
qq`4<0I>
Ask Michael Bubl?how he felt going in to record his third nPtuTySG
studio album, Call Me Irresponsible, and this artist with bs&43Ae
11 million albums sold and two Grammy nominations under }K>d+6qk5
his belt can sum it up in one word. dDMJ'
{?0lBfB"
"Terrified," he says simply. Terrified? 3%|&I:tI
i"FtcP^
"Completely, because I knew that it had to be better than zk+9'r`-D
the first two - that it had to show growth without P;no?
alienating anyone, and that's a tough line. So I sat there 2;b\9R^>A
from the very beginning and came up with the songs, put S?LQu
together the skeleton, and thought about what arrangers I 2.y-48Nz
would hire. I even ended up at the mastering session, dQX6(J j
which artists rarely attend. I wanted to be involved in QL/(72K
every aspect because I wanted it to be conceptually jd"@t*ZV
beautiful." cZ*@$%_
O\tb R=
Bubl?has certainly achieved success on that front. As T Z@]:e:"b
with his previous two 143/Reprise bestsellers, 2003's 7z,C}-q
self-titled debut and 2005's multi-platinum follow-up It's G _tCmu\
Time, Call Me Irresponsible boasts more of Bubl?s nW:C/{n2tG
buoyant, modern interpretations of standards from a !F-w3 ]
variety of eras, including songs by such greats as Leonard [DOckf oZx
Cohen, Eric Clapton, Cy Coleman, Gamble and Huff, and 'oVx#w^mf
others, as well as two self-penned originals, including n&/ `
the first single, the uplifting love song called Lb-OsKU
"Everything." > |=ts
G4;Oi=
But it's hardly business as usual for this Vancouver {TROoX~H?
native. It never is for Bubl? whose irrepressible spirit, *>}@7}f
engaging humor, and confident charisma once led the New E&w7GZNt
York Times to call him "an entertainer who is completely nFCC St$
at home on the stage." ^DLfY-F+j
6|=f$a
Michael BubleHis new CD, which he calls "my remark on the +=h:Vb8
state of love," contains a depth of feeling that will pllGB6X
surprise and delight long-term fans and impress those new d1T!+I
to his music. "To me, what's different about this CD is RP|`HkP-2
that it has a certain raw emotion because I recorded many DCa^ u'f
of these songs live in the studio." Bubl?introduces the y Pp9\[+^j
electrifying, impeccably orchestrated set to follow with cVpp-Z|s8
the opening track, Cy Coleman's "The Best Is Yet To Come," IPpN@
(made famous by Sinatra, Ella Fitzgerald, and others). y.k~Y0
Then there's the exhilarating, salsa-flavored "It Had !BF; >f`
Better Be Tonight," written by Johnny Mercer and Henry G_JA-@i%
Mancini, which Bubl?attacks with a hot-blooded 372rbY
vengeance-"another very sexy songand edgy." From there, TX/Xt7#R:
he takes on "Me and Mrs. Jones," the 1972 Gamble and Huff ; 2#y7!
classic popularized by soul singer Billy Paul. "David Tidn-2L73O
(Foster) brought it to me, I'd never actually heard it t?gic9 q
before," Bubl?says. "We wanted it to be authentic and T!{w~'=F
tell the story." Next up is Leonard Cohen's "I'm Your Man" NxY#NaE:?4
from the Canadian singer/songwriter's 1988 album of the ^76]0`gS
same name. "I always thought it was a wonderful song - re<{ >
desperate, sexy, and dark," Bubl?says. "I actually called ="H%6S4'
Leonard and told him I was afraid of performing it live. |Ez>J+uye(
When he asked me why, I said because he'd written too sexy B[Scr5|
of a song and I was afraid men were going to throw their P+sW[:
underpants at me. He just laughed and said, 'I wouldn't 3?yg\
worry too much about that.'" ]EAO+x9
i]4I [!
Then there's a swinging, hep-cat version of Mel Torm?s n@i HFBb
1962 pop hit "Comin' Home Baby," featuring vocals from WwFm*4{[o
Philly soul faves Boys II Men; and a sentimental, q2j{tP#
self-penned ballad "Lost," co-written with Chang and >=>2m2z=
Canadian singer-songwriter Jann Arden. "It's an anthem for v?$:@9pAk
star-crossed lovers," Bubl?says. "Sometimes relationships :cECRm*
don't work out because love isn't enough, but that doesn't JbbzV>
mean you have to discard the person. There is a way to end "sCRdx]_
a relationship and still be there when they need you. +\A,&;!SR
That's basically what it's about." U)gH}0n&
=WATyY:s
A languid, emotional rendition of Eric Clapton's ballad J8(lIk:e
"Wonderful Tonight," on which Bubl?duets with Brazilian `h\j99
singer-songwriter Ivan Lins, whose work has been covered NI]N4[8(
by everyone from Sarah Vaughan to Ella Fitzgerald follows. SfyQ$$Z
"I've always been very sentimental about that song," Bubl? Y.UFbrv
says. "What is interesting about that track is here I am, RqrdAkg
a 31-year-old guy from Canada who's singing a song that P@B]
means so much to me with a 61-year-old man from Brazil, x9g#<2w8
who's singing in his own language but it means the exact p6@)-2^
same thing to both of us." n\DV3rXI9
{tZ.v@
Other highlight's include two of Bubl?s original songs, m s \}
including the acoustic-guitar driven "Everything," {\5
co-written with Amy Foster-Gillies and Alan Chang (who =T@1@w
also co-wrote Bubl?s touching hit ballad "Home" off It's )10+@d
Time) and produced by fellow Canadian Bob Rock (Bon Jovi, # W']6'O
Metallica, Motley Crue, Bryan Adams). "I wrote that song teF9Q+*~
about the great happiness of real love, but at the same \b x$i*
time I was making a statement about the world," Bubl? 2ilQXy
says. "We're living in really crazy times, and I wanted to vE?G7%,
say that no matter what's happening, this person in my aFYIM`?(
life is what really makes it worthwhile." oc`H}Wvn
F41=b4/
Michael BubleRounding out Call Me Irresponsible is Frank n>YKa)|W`
Sinatra's "That's Life," which, in Bubl?s hands, becomes NLqzi%s
a powerhouse complete with a full choir. "I brought the da(<K}
song to a wonderful guy named Mervyn Warren, from the PZ9I`P! C
acappella group Take 6 and said, 'I want to take this to tsjrRMR
church; I want to make it a huge gospel tune.' So he cwg"c4V
brought in a choir and I love it. It's one of my favorite z:*|a+cy
things about the record." L4HI0Mx
/4Gt{yg Sr
To help him capture the intensity in the songs' meanings, jL luj
Bubl?turned to his long-standing team of producers, which R/YqyT\SM
include 14-time Grammy winner David Foster (Barbra :F?C)F
Streisand, Celine Dion, Josh Groban) and producer/engineer %h@EP[\
Humberto Gatica (Elton John, Destiny's Child, Michael vs4>T^8e
Jackson). "We definitely have a great working relationship '=pU^Oz<}
where I think I interfere just enough," Bubl?says with a y)@wjH{6
laugh. "I mean, David is the greatest producer in the K0>zxqY
world. They're both so amazing, I couldn't do it without y N-9[P8C
them." 1+s;FJ2}
g- gV2$I
Foster first discovered Bubl?seven years ago when he K"MX!
caught the aspiring star performing at the wedding of y6a3t G
former Canadian Prime Minster's daughter. The son of a 0H:X3y+
British Columbia-based salmon and herring fisherman, Bubl? WsB?C&>x
spent the months his parents were away with his U xGApK=X
music-loving Italian grandfather, who introduced him to >[#f\bG>
the singers who would become Bubl?s idols: Bobby Darin, /N{*"s2)
Dean Martin, Sinatra, Ray Charles, and Elvis Presley. ]/v[8dS(l
"These guys were triple threats," he says. "They could })%{AfDRF
sing, they could dance, they could act. They were JZ x[W&]zT
entertainers, and I believe that's a lost art now." AwR =]W;j
5H^ (2w
Bubl?honed his skills as a showman through years of o]V^};B
performing in hotel lounges and smoky bars - gigs his F^:3?JA _
grandfather, a plumber, helped the underage singer secure t6c4+D'{].
by trading his plumbing services. By the time Foster met 59u }W 0
him 2000, Bubl?already knew exactly what he brought to l/5 hp.
the table - a warm, engaging voice and unassailable taste [/r(__.
in music. His debut album was an international smash, `a/`,N
going Top Ten in the U.K. and Canada, and earning him his _[BP 0\dPW
first Juno award for Best New Talent in 2004. The hZb_P\1X
follow-up, It's Time, sold more than 5.5 million copies, @0''k
and has remained on the Billboard Traditional Jazz charts jP.dDYc
for a staggering two years, and in the Number 1 slot for 8s@3hXD&
more than 80 weeks, an all-time record. >t+P(*u
jH:[2N?
But along with his passion for creating great music in the f o3}W^0
studio, performing on stage is pure paradise for Michael ;uGv:$([g
Bubl? "I just love getting in front of people," he says. :3 mh@[V
"It's so important to be in touch with your audience. +}AI@+
They've paid their money. I want them to be entertained. @6.vKCSE
If they want to cry or laugh or dance or sing or yell, ]SEZaT
they can do whatever they want. My responsibility is just sI2^Qp@O1
to take them away." $??I/6
