The one and only Michael Buble's eagerly awaited new CD EA ]+vq
"Call Me Irresponsible' will be released on May 1st, it KT]Pw\y5

The Vancouver native, whose collective worldwide record R1Sy9x .

with stops including Chicago, New York, Philadelphia, %ZHP2j %~
Atlanta, Los Angeles and Seattle. "KcA
n>@oBG)!
Call Me Irresponsible highlights include Buble's energy W3`>8v1?o
infused interpretations on standards from a variety of pv| Pm
eras including songs by such greats as Leonard Cohen, Eric R$;n)_H
Clapton, Cy Coleman, Gamble and Huff, Harold Arlen, Johnny y#}cC+;
Mercer and others. (&/2\0QV

Produced by David Foster and Humberto Gattica, wFG3KzEq ~
Irresponsible includes a touching Buble written ballad *s@Qtgu
called "Lost," along with a rocking duet with Boys II Men U qG .:@T
of the old Mel Torme' hit "Coming Home Baby." Brazilian +`3!I
singer Ivan Lens also makes a guest appearance on the V_plq6z
Clapton written "Wonderful Tonight". The pairing of these P[s8JDqu
two voices from two totally different generations +P.+_7+:
magnifies Buble's summation of this record-love is ^C2\`jLMY
universal and ageless. U,nEbKJgk
+`?Y?L^ J
As for the album, Buble says, "It's all about love. We're WJI[9@^I~
either in love, dreaming about love recovering from it, A?Bif;
wishing for it or reflecting on it. That's what this \u6^Varw
record is about." /}-CvSR

Michael BubleThe Grammy-nominated, four-time Juno Award gZ5[ C
winning Buble arrived on the music scene with a >0Q|nCx
groundbreaking 2003 self-titled debut CD and embarked on ~]ZpA-*@Ut
what would virtually become a perpetual concert tour N !TW!
circling the globe continuously for the last five years. (O0Urm
His multi platinum follow-up, "It's Time," sold over 5.5 R|i/lEq
million copies and has remained on the Billboard H'Yh2a`!o
Traditional Jazz charts for a staggering two years and in i2~
the No. 1 slot for over 80 weeks, holding the all time 4CGPO c
record. His reputation as one of the world's consumate o|jIM9/
'entertainers' is by now legendary. "Buble's stage 2<M= L1\
presence is magnetic. He has charisma, energy and when he $9?cP`hmi
sings, words float out of his mouth; he swivels like Elvis 5`f@>r?
with a flash of a tap dancing Fred Astaire. He has fun," &89 oO@5
raved the London Sunday Times Magazine. iNMx"F0r

Ask Michael Bubl?how he felt going in to record his third o)'y.-@Q
studio album, Call Me Irresponsible, and this artist with )BRKZQN
11 million albums sold and two Grammy nominations under +F dB '
his belt can sum it up in one word. j0@[Br%7
ca+[0w@S
"Terrified," he says simply. Terrified? ~'R(2[L!;
$s<Ne{?
"Completely, because I knew that it had to be better than McPNB`.H
the first two - that it had to show growth without :;t #\%L/
alienating anyone, and that's a tough line. So I sat there uc|45Zxt
from the very beginning and came up with the songs, put xe/(
together the skeleton, and thought about what arrangers I *L!!]Q2c
would hire. I even ended up at the mastering session, MDF%\Sx
which artists rarely attend. I wanted to be involved in 7RZh<A>m
every aspect because I wanted it to be conceptually 0OGCilOb*
beautiful." ~a xjjv
CKA;.sh
Bubl?has certainly achieved success on that front. As ^e+a
with his previous two 143/Reprise bestsellers, 2003's fxgr`nC
self-titled debut and 2005's multi-platinum follow-up It's mFHH515
Time, Call Me Irresponsible boasts more of Bubl?s 4DTzSy:x
buoyant, modern interpretations of standards from a G7D2{J{1
variety of eras, including songs by such greats as Leonard ek&kv#G
Cohen, Eric Clapton, Cy Coleman, Gamble and Huff, and [Y`,qB<B
others, as well as two self-penned originals, including 9{:O{nl
the first single, the uplifting love song called 86z]<p (
"Everything." $8a(veXd
*b]; |n{
But it's hardly business as usual for this Vancouver 2B,] -Mu)
native. It never is for Bubl? whose irrepressible spirit, dx ;k`r$w
engaging humor, and confident charisma once led the New +iI&c s
York Times to call him "an entertainer who is completely D-,L&R!`
at home on the stage." fryJW=

Michael BubleHis new CD, which he calls "my remark on the 1T:Y0
state of love," contains a depth of feeling that will 6 PxW8pn
surprise and delight long-term fans and impress those new iDf,e Kk$'
to his music. "To me, what's different about this CD is u :F~K
that it has a certain raw emotion because I recorded many 5Ba[k[b^
of these songs live in the studio." Bubl?introduces the dMrd_1
electrifying, impeccably orchestrated set to follow with 5O`dO9g}$
the opening track, Cy Coleman's "The Best Is Yet To Come," f-r] |k
(made famous by Sinatra, Ella Fitzgerald, and others). 8/K!SpM*d
Then there's the exhilarating, salsa-flavored "It Had *28pRvY:b
Better Be Tonight," written by Johnny Mercer and Henry JsotOic%
Mancini, which Bubl?attacks with a hot-blooded }MlwC;ot
vengeance-"another very sexy songand edgy." From there, HI@syFaJM
he takes on "Me and Mrs. Jones," the 1972 Gamble and Huff z)uuxNv[R
classic popularized by soul singer Billy Paul. "David uPniLx\t:
(Foster) brought it to me, I'd never actually heard it Y[ N^p#t{
before," Bubl?says. "We wanted it to be authentic and +S=Rn,
tell the story." Next up is Leonard Cohen's "I'm Your Man" vVE7fq3
from the Canadian singer/songwriter's 1988 album of the UQ4% Xp
same name. "I always thought it was a wonderful song - nJ" '
desperate, sexy, and dark," Bubl?says. "I actually called d[;.r
Leonard and told him I was afraid of performing it live. w4fW<ISg
When he asked me why, I said because he'd written too sexy +kFxi2L6
of a song and I was afraid men were going to throw their VM0j`bs'K*
underpants at me. He just laughed and said, 'I wouldn't gkHNRAL
worry too much about that.'" 77Bgl4P
q7&6r|w1I
Then there's a swinging, hep-cat version of Mel Torm?s R<V!%rL;;
1962 pop hit "Comin' Home Baby," featuring vocals from #0Tq=:AE>
Philly soul faves Boys II Men; and a sentimental, Oez>X=Xf
self-penned ballad "Lost," co-written with Chang and Ye.r%i &
Canadian singer-songwriter Jann Arden. "It's an anthem for 5y?-fT]X
star-crossed lovers," Bubl?says. "Sometimes relationships &hk-1y9QS
don't work out because love isn't enough, but that doesn't CA +uKM^"6
mean you have to discard the person. There is a way to end rm} R>4
a relationship and still be there when they need you. $U/YR&vcw
That's basically what it's about." kHqztg
|`;54_f
A languid, emotional rendition of Eric Clapton's ballad It75R}B
"Wonderful Tonight," on which Bubl?duets with Brazilian pa{re,O"e
singer-songwriter Ivan Lins, whose work has been covered `~cuQ<3Tn
by everyone from Sarah Vaughan to Ella Fitzgerald follows. 1nu^F,M
"I've always been very sentimental about that song," Bubl? ]G2uk`
says. "What is interesting about that track is here I am, -J^(eog[6
a 31-year-old guy from Canada who's singing a song that a/< Csad
means so much to me with a 61-year-old man from Brazil, 1 1cWy+8D
who's singing in his own language but it means the exact ?:Bv iF);/
same thing to both of us." +[xnZ$Iev
(xq%
Other highlight's include two of Bubl?s original songs, OaL\w D^
including the acoustic-guitar driven "Everything," R-P-i0 ~
co-written with Amy Foster-Gillies and Alan Chang (who K+6e?5t
also co-wrote Bubl?s touching hit ballad "Home" off It's y7^{yS[,
Time) and produced by fellow Canadian Bob Rock (Bon Jovi, kQ
Metallica, Motley Crue, Bryan Adams). "I wrote that song `ImE% r!
about the great happiness of real love, but at the same _FwK-?4E-
time I was making a statement about the world," Bubl? uWrQ&}@
says. "We're living in really crazy times, and I wanted to VAXT{s&4>
say that no matter what's happening, this person in my #h@J=Ki
life is what really makes it worthwhile." kEd@oC
=H|6 GJ
Michael BubleRounding out Call Me Irresponsible is Frank nB] >!q
Sinatra's "That's Life," which, in Bubl?s hands, becomes m%PC8bf`S
a powerhouse complete with a full choir. "I brought the l|hUw
song to a wonderful guy named Mervyn Warren, from the d,by / .2
acappella group Take 6 and said, 'I want to take this to P#:?ok
church; I want to make it a huge gospel tune.' So he wYlf^~#"
brought in a choir and I love it. It's one of my favorite J6jwBo2m
things about the record." =v*.p=r
z.rh]Zq
To help him capture the intensity in the songs' meanings, !|<=ZF2
Bubl?turned to his long-standing team of producers, which O3CFme
include 14-time Grammy winner David Foster (Barbra =!Q7}z1QI
Streisand, Celine Dion, Josh Groban) and producer/engineer AO UL^$&
Humberto Gatica (Elton John, Destiny's Child, Michael f}D1|\7
Jackson). "We definitely have a great working relationship :EHJ\+kejX
where I think I interfere just enough," Bubl?says with a N&[D>G]>v
laugh. "I mean, David is the greatest producer in the |_ G )qp;
world. They're both so amazing, I couldn't do it without nW|wY.
them." boo }u
&* E+N[
Foster first discovered Bubl?seven years ago when he gqWupL
caught the aspiring star performing at the wedding of 7+hK~
former Canadian Prime Minster's daughter. The son of a c=AOkX3UD
British Columbia-based salmon and herring fisherman, Bubl? LbtX0^
spent the months his parents were away with his HD N9.5 S
music-loving Italian grandfather, who introduced him to !@'%G6:.
the singers who would become Bubl?s idols: Bobby Darin, -)~SM&
Dean Martin, Sinatra, Ray Charles, and Elvis Presley. aAy'\T$x.
"These guys were triple threats," he says. "They could |T{C,"9y
sing, they could dance, they could act. They were #Eb5:;
entertainers, and I believe that's a lost art now." !a~`Bs$'jr
i%6;
Bubl?honed his skills as a showman through years of SIKOFs
performing in hotel lounges and smoky bars - gigs his kapC%/6"
grandfather, a plumber, helped the underage singer secure ujJI 1I
by trading his plumbing services. By the time Foster met ` }3qhar
him 2000, Bubl?already knew exactly what he brought to yAN=2fZm
the table - a warm, engaging voice and unassailable taste ?3O9eZY@
in music. His debut album was an international smash, eznypY=
going Top Ten in the U.K. and Canada, and earning him his YSaJeU>@
first Juno award for Best New Talent in 2004. The D/=5tOy
follow-up, It's Time, sold more than 5.5 million copies, {vo +gRYYv
and has remained on the Billboard Traditional Jazz charts +x1eJug4
for a staggering two years, and in the Number 1 slot for Tz9`uW~Mf
more than 80 weeks, an all-time record. A_;8IlW
j:w{;(1=W
But along with his passion for creating great music in the apk4 j\i?5
studio, performing on stage is pure paradise for Michael ,<A$h3*
Bubl? "I just love getting in front of people," he says. .6OgO{P:
"It's so important to be in touch with your audience. CB&iI'
They've paid their money. I want them to be entertained. DI;DECQl$
If they want to cry or laugh or dance or sing or yell, c"n ?'e
they can do whatever they want. My responsibility is just 4 QZ?}iz
to take them away." /\) a
