The one and only Michael Buble's eagerly awaited new CD yCN?kHG
"Call Me Irresponsible' will be released on May 1st, it >`p? CE
was confirmed by his record label, Reprise Records. The MGY0^6yK5
first single from the new album, the Buble penned ?!O4ia3nFk
"Everything", has just been released and will be performed @8$z2
by the artist on The Today Show on the day of the release. hzT)5'_

The Vancouver native, whose collective worldwide record L|B! ]}
sales are over 11 million units, is also scheduled to zrf tF2U
begin a global concert tour in Reno, Nevada on July 13th U uC-R)
with stops including Chicago, New York, Philadelphia, VfUHqdg-
Atlanta, Los Angeles and Seattle. 3gnO)"$
RC?vU
Call Me Irresponsible highlights include Buble's energy >P]gjYN
infused interpretations on standards from a variety of xsiJI1/68
eras including songs by such greats as Leonard Cohen, Eric <@Vf:`a!P>
Clapton, Cy Coleman, Gamble and Huff, Harold Arlen, Johnny J4@-?xj=\q
Mercer and others. zQ#* O'-n
=- ,'LOE
Produced by David Foster and Humberto Gattica, =T\=,B
Irresponsible includes a touching Buble written ballad Y[H769
called "Lost," along with a rocking duet with Boys II Men @_W13@|
of the old Mel Torme' hit "Coming Home Baby." Brazilian ~@(C+3,
singer Ivan Lens also makes a guest appearance on the @C^wV
Clapton written "Wonderful Tonight". The pairing of these J 5';Hb)
two voices from two totally different generations $x,EPRNs
magnifies Buble's summation of this record-love is =3`|D0E
universal and ageless. ,HI% ym
Io[NN aF|
As for the album, Buble says, "It's all about love. We're _3< P(w{
either in love, dreaming about love recovering from it, Cy *.pzCi
wishing for it or reflecting on it. That's what this [P6m8%Y|s
record is about." kdp^{zW}

Michael BubleThe Grammy-nominated, four-time Juno Award jOzi89
winning Buble arrived on the music scene with a ^bP`Iv
groundbreaking 2003 self-titled debut CD and embarked on zWH)\>X59
what would virtually become a perpetual concert tour x,zYNNx5g
circling the globe continuously for the last five years. ib~i ^_p
His multi platinum follow-up, "It's Time," sold over 5.5 lQBE q"7$
million copies and has remained on the Billboard 7?{y&sf
Traditional Jazz charts for a staggering two years and in `'&mO9,<-
the No. 1 slot for over 80 weeks, holding the all time J_;*@mW
record. His reputation as one of the world's consumate MTKNIv|
'entertainers' is by now legendary. "Buble's stage ('AAHq/
presence is magnetic. He has charisma, energy and when he fx>U2
sings, words float out of his mouth; he swivels like Elvis W6_ rSVm
with a flash of a tap dancing Fred Astaire. He has fun," lfre-pS+
raved the London Sunday Times Magazine. *ra>Kl0
Ga-cto1Y
Ask Michael Bubl?how he felt going in to record his third cpALs1j:
studio album, Call Me Irresponsible, and this artist with ch25A<O<R.
11 million albums sold and two Grammy nominations under #9Ect@?N0
his belt can sum it up in one word. V1pBKr)v
`*BV@
"Terrified," he says simply. Terrified? 6q>}M
&9|L Z9K
"Completely, because I knew that it had to be better than :`Ut.E~.
the first two - that it had to show growth without ,.}%\GhY
alienating anyone, and that's a tough line. So I sat there 6`20
from the very beginning and came up with the songs, put %ek0NBE7
together the skeleton, and thought about what arrangers I nO!&;E&
would hire. I even ended up at the mastering session, RV);^, b
which artists rarely attend. I wanted to be involved in p$qk\efv*4
every aspect because I wanted it to be conceptually H%gAgXHn
beautiful." EwkSUA>Tm
^+v1[U@
Bubl?has certainly achieved success on that front. As g(;OUkj$Zp
with his previous two 143/Reprise bestsellers, 2003's :8hI3]9
self-titled debut and 2005's multi-platinum follow-up It's Rb.vyQ
Time, Call Me Irresponsible boasts more of Bubl?s 6>oc,=MV/
buoyant, modern interpretations of standards from a MIn_?r
variety of eras, including songs by such greats as Leonard vSC1n8 /
Cohen, Eric Clapton, Cy Coleman, Gamble and Huff, and \"))P1
others, as well as two self-penned originals, including `GdH ,:S>
the first single, the uplifting love song called {Dk!<w I)
"Everything." d;]m wLB0
%ut 8/T
But it's hardly business as usual for this Vancouver |R _rfJh
native. It never is for Bubl? whose irrepressible spirit, Tjq1[Wq
engaging humor, and confident charisma once led the New 3Ovx)qKxd
York Times to call him "an entertainer who is completely ,[zSz8R
at home on the stage." ;Q^>F6+_m
BxjSo^n
Michael BubleHis new CD, which he calls "my remark on the (RV#piM
state of love," contains a depth of feeling that will >}%#s`3W1_
surprise and delight long-term fans and impress those new AvB=/p@]
to his music. "To me, what's different about this CD is IZ7o6Etti
that it has a certain raw emotion because I recorded many _ +NjfF|
of these songs live in the studio." Bubl?introduces the 2#sFY/@
electrifying, impeccably orchestrated set to follow with [DH4iG5
the opening track, Cy Coleman's "The Best Is Yet To Come," $ P 5K
(made famous by Sinatra, Ella Fitzgerald, and others). Pd\4hy
Then there's the exhilarating, salsa-flavored "It Had Fa[^D~$l*
Better Be Tonight," written by Johnny Mercer and Henry )Uy%iE*
Mancini, which Bubl?attacks with a hot-blooded ZTV)D
vengeance-"another very sexy songand edgy." From there, t!*[nfR
he takes on "Me and Mrs. Jones," the 1972 Gamble and Huff 1n[)({OQ
classic popularized by soul singer Billy Paul. "David 8.n#@%
(Foster) brought it to me, I'd never actually heard it T3@2e0u )
before," Bubl?says. "We wanted it to be authentic and >Zs!
tell the story." Next up is Leonard Cohen's "I'm Your Man" ;Vs2 e
from the Canadian singer/songwriter's 1988 album of the pu]U_Ll@
same name. "I always thought it was a wonderful song - wbrOL(q.m
desperate, sexy, and dark," Bubl?says. "I actually called hxH6Ii]\
Leonard and told him I was afraid of performing it live. $q z{L~ <
When he asked me why, I said because he'd written too sexy iD G&Muc
of a song and I was afraid men were going to throw their 't&1y6Uu
underpants at me. He just laughed and said, 'I wouldn't \t&! &R#
worry too much about that.'" TB* t^ E
G}g;<,g~
Then there's a swinging, hep-cat version of Mel Torm?s 6XF Ufi+
1962 pop hit "Comin' Home Baby," featuring vocals from ]vvA]e
Philly soul faves Boys II Men; and a sentimental, Sx'oa$J
self-penned ballad "Lost," co-written with Chang and Eu'E;*- f
Canadian singer-songwriter Jann Arden. "It's an anthem for S.~L[iLc
star-crossed lovers," Bubl?says. "Sometimes relationships WoN},oT[i
don't work out because love isn't enough, but that doesn't Q=Mv"~2>B
mean you have to discard the person. There is a way to end `G1"&q,i
a relationship and still be there when they need you. 8wvHg_U6W
That's basically what it's about." {)lZfj}l
M,@M5o2u
A languid, emotional rendition of Eric Clapton's ballad m+;U,[%[*E
"Wonderful Tonight," on which Bubl?duets with Brazilian n=V|NrU
singer-songwriter Ivan Lins, whose work has been covered ''@Tke3IG6
by everyone from Sarah Vaughan to Ella Fitzgerald follows. T` h%=u|D
"I've always been very sentimental about that song," Bubl? &)tiO>B^6
says. "What is interesting about that track is here I am, G=|?aK{p
a 31-year-old guy from Canada who's singing a song that 1F,U^O
means so much to me with a 61-year-old man from Brazil, oo\^}jb
who's singing in his own language but it means the exact %%}l[W
same thing to both of us." e'A_4;~@s
BInSS*L
Other highlight's include two of Bubl?s original songs, Lv['/!DJ|
including the acoustic-guitar driven "Everything," dN3^PK
co-written with Amy Foster-Gillies and Alan Chang (who RU7+$Z0K
also co-wrote Bubl?s touching hit ballad "Home" off It's 7*+CX
Time) and produced by fellow Canadian Bob Rock (Bon Jovi, {l,&F+W$C
Metallica, Motley Crue, Bryan Adams). "I wrote that song SoM,o]s#y
about the great happiness of real love, but at the same Y4 z
time I was making a statement about the world," Bubl? 7HH@7vpJ^
says. "We're living in really crazy times, and I wanted to ~d eS*
say that no matter what's happening, this person in my 2PyuM=(Wt
life is what really makes it worthwhile." X^N6s"2
2=fM\G
Michael BubleRounding out Call Me Irresponsible is Frank a<q9~QS
Sinatra's "That's Life," which, in Bubl?s hands, becomes f tTD-d
a powerhouse complete with a full choir. "I brought the @y7KP$t
song to a wonderful guy named Mervyn Warren, from the :JG5)H}j+
acappella group Take 6 and said, 'I want to take this to S/)),~`4
church; I want to make it a huge gospel tune.' So he 1[O cZ CS
brought in a choir and I love it. It's one of my favorite y/Y}C.IWp)
things about the record." 'RKpMdoz
3-hcKE
To help him capture the intensity in the songs' meanings, Kt*fQ `9
Bubl?turned to his long-standing team of producers, which %C,zR&]F
include 14-time Grammy winner David Foster (Barbra J{dO0!7y
Streisand, Celine Dion, Josh Groban) and producer/engineer Yc]k<tQ
Humberto Gatica (Elton John, Destiny's Child, Michael 4)tY6ds)r|
Jackson). "We definitely have a great working relationship Jw}t~m3
where I think I interfere just enough," Bubl?says with a [;,E cw^
laugh. "I mean, David is the greatest producer in the fVgK6?<8^
world. They're both so amazing, I couldn't do it without r+ 8Tp|%
them." Db|JR
WUie `p
Foster first discovered Bubl?seven years ago when he DCiU?u~
caught the aspiring star performing at the wedding of Zqm%qm:
former Canadian Prime Minster's daughter. The son of a X5/j8=G H`
British Columbia-based salmon and herring fisherman, Bubl? 'uL$j=vB
spent the months his parents were away with his yg'CL/P
music-loving Italian grandfather, who introduced him to W`9{RZ'
the singers who would become Bubl?s idols: Bobby Darin, vw!7f|Pg ~
Dean Martin, Sinatra, Ray Charles, and Elvis Presley. "KK}} $>
"These guys were triple threats," he says. "They could ,H"}Rw
sing, they could dance, they could act. They were S;#:~?dU
entertainers, and I believe that's a lost art now." a%m )8N;C
5*Zz_ .
Bubl?honed his skills as a showman through years of ^2$b8]q
performing in hotel lounges and smoky bars - gigs his YU-wE';H6
grandfather, a plumber, helped the underage singer secure Tx K v!-1
by trading his plumbing services. By the time Foster met \A\
him 2000, Bubl?already knew exactly what he brought to ,c`6-
the table - a warm, engaging voice and unassailable taste {z_cczJ-
in music. His debut album was an international smash, yJC: bD1xi
going Top Ten in the U.K. and Canada, and earning him his /c=8$y\%@
first Juno award for Best New Talent in 2004. The s3JzYDpy
follow-up, It's Time, sold more than 5.5 million copies, !`=iKe&%E
and has remained on the Billboard Traditional Jazz charts <}~ /. Cx
for a staggering two years, and in the Number 1 slot for Tdh.U {Nz
more than 80 weeks, an all-time record. cI8\d 4/py
;~:Z~8+{c
But along with his passion for creating great music in the ,^c-}`!K
studio, performing on stage is pure paradise for Michael Uz_ob9l<#H
Bubl? "I just love getting in front of people," he says. D.{vuftu
"It's so important to be in touch with your audience. ==?wG!v2h
They've paid their money. I want them to be entertained. [DjlkA/Zg
If they want to cry or laugh or dance or sing or yell, \[{8E}_"^
they can do whatever they want. My responsibility is just ;} Lf
to take them away." u3 LoP_|
}GURq#
Special edition includes the bonus track "Love" <Rw2F?S~)n
