Though Public Mind is Nehemiah抯 first solo release, it is not Nehemiah抯 K&RIF]0#G  
debut on the music scene.  Raised in his father抯 church, Nehemiah has 4HR36=E6

Nehemiah had recorded his first song by the age of 12 and at the age of 15 3l,-n|x  
he headlined his first concert in his hometown of Portland, Oregon with S;jD@j\t&  
the proceeds going toward teenage victims of domestic violence.  It was tv

after that concert that Nehemiah was convinced that he wanted to pursue l($8HAJ

This pursuit has had its ups and downs but each one of them has shaped "}#%h&,  
who Nehemiah is today, both as an artist and as a person.  The highlights \*'@F+  
of Nehemiah抯 early career included an appearance in the motion picture Kn<+Au_]L  
Reggie抯 Prayer, starring the late football star Reggie White.  In Z4c'1-lh  
addition, Nehemiah appeared on a nationally syndicated talk show, took /qMnIo  
his live show to Canada, and opened up for the famed R&B/Gospel group,

Virtue.  The experiences of his teenage years opened the door for /]_|uN)Q  
Nehemiah to later join Soul, a contemporary gospel group signed to a #"lb9._M  
subsidiary of the Hendrix record label.  This release spent 9 weeks on /!^,+  
the Billboard gospel charts and peeked at number 36.  Though the group *^Ges;5$"  
was short-lived it provided Nehemiah the opportunity to tour the states 9bM kP2w>  
and establish relationships that would bear fruit in the years to come. 4c95G^dZ

After briefly filling the lead vocalist spot in a group with producer HR 8|<</v8i  
Crump (Beyonce), Nehemiah decided to focus on developing his solo project.   =[&+R9

His debut solo album, Public Mind, is the product of all of his life 6)*B%$?x  
experiences, both good and bad.  The mid-tempo track 揟hat Person?is a _ E-\aS{  
celebratory autobiographical account of all that happened to Nehemiah as =.&8ghJ*M  
he recognized all that Jesus Christ is.  Another personal song, 揊ly Away,? qp/1tC`  
was written for his daughter, Amiah, who died several weeks after being [f! { -T  
born.  It is songs like these that helped the album find its title.   bJ2>@|3*  
Nehemiah explains, 揟he title of the album is intended to communicate on Shn=Q  
two levels.  First, I wanted to emphasize that I identify with my audience.   vz>9jw:Y  
The things that they struggle with, I struggle with.  The things that a!/\:4-uc  
trouble them, trouble me.  Second, I wanted to show that this album is not c;Tp_e@  
simply a collection of songs, it is a window into my mind and life which I x,]x>Up

Nehemiah lists artists ranging from Commissioned to Boyz II Men to Phil K;WQV,  
Collins among his influences and the diversity of his personal palate comes ok0ZI>=,  
through in the diversity of the album.  Nehemiah wrote and produced much of |m6rF7Q  
the disc himself while also teaming with producers and songwriters Derek ]s\vc:cc?  
Clark (Fred Hammond), Anson Dawkins (Dawkins & Dawkins), Chris Turner 0nL #-`S  
(Singleton抯), Cole Brown (Michelle Williams) and his brother J.B. Yj*T'<e  
(Benjiman).  The production and vocals on the project are top notch, there ~CbiKez  
is nothing about Nehemiah抯 debut that sounds like the independent project ^<-)rzTI  
it truly is.  But while people will definitely respond to the impressive 2O*At%CzW  
vocals and banging tracks Nehemiah hopes they will especially be drawn to 6W{Nw<  
the stories.  揝ome of these songs are birthed out of experiences I抳e +Ugy=678Tr  
lived and some of them were born out of the experiences of my community.   > Xh=P%  
Not all people will be able to relate to the exact details of every song but jex\5  
I believe everyone will find themselves somewhere in each song.  Each of !=
